When I first saw this statement, it kind of hit my right in the nose. Not only is it a new year, which typically means we review our lives and look to make changes; but it also made me realize I need to stretch my comfort zone. It also got me thinking about you, my students, and how much of an advantage you have over people like me that haven't looked to stretch our comfort zone many times throughout our lives. Please understand, with you being a teenager and if you can start the habit of stretching your comfort zone now, your future will have so many wonderful opportunities. Don't get into a rut or stuck in a box; it really limits all the great things that you can accomplish or go after in life.
What does this quote mean to you? Are there things you want to make changes to do them differently? Does your comfort zone need to be looked at because you know changes are coming for you in the near future? Please understand, you don't want to wait until your mid 30's (10 years ago for me) to start trying to figure out how to expand your comfort zone. As always - I love the fact that I get to learn new things from my students and others every day. So please help me learn some new things by sharing your viewpoints on this quote with me and others.
